LARGER THAN LIFE

Mr. James Haklar presented an interesting Science lesson for Grades PK through 2nd at Our Lady of Peace School.  The lesson involved viewing everyday objects through a microscope.

Mr. Haklar and his son, Tim, had gathered some pond water to examine.

Some of the objects students viewed were:  an ant, grains of salt, water droplets from a pond and on onion skin.  Can you guess what this one is?
It is human hair!

Students and teachers were amazed at how different objects appear through the microscope lens, as they become "L:arger than Life."
Students, also, learned about the life of a box turtle.  We have one "visiting" the grounds of the middle school.  Many students saw him under the bushes.  Box turtles are native to New Jersey.
